Description
The XT-1600 is a fully automatic X-ray inspection system designed for the inspection of big, safety relevant parts in the sectors automotive, aerospace and power generation. Main application is the blowhole detection in castings. The XT-1600 uses a customer specified conveyor system with work piece holders for the transportation of the test samples. To optimize the cycle time, two robots operate in turns manipulating the parts.
The XT-1600 is equipped with the Fraunhofer XEye detector. Compared to the flat panel detectors that are based on amorphous silicon this detector offers the advantage that it runs without image lag, burin-in and pixel defects. This leads to a permanently stable image quality and significant cost savings. For automatic image evaluation and classification of casting defects the XT-1600 uses the fully automatic X-ray inspection software ISAR developed by Fraunhofer. The test programs can be generated and processed in teach-in mode. This can be done in-line or off-line.
